Reflections on the Year That Was.

What am I doing now? It is time to celebrate the end of 2023 and welcome in the new year, 2024. But I am sitting down at my desk writing a blog. Well, before I open the champagne, whiskey, wine or diet coke, I am thinking about how my year went. It is a time for reflection.

I am thinking about my achievements, and I considering if there were enough. I am also thinking about my mistakes and hoping that they are few. But I guess it is not only that. We need to think about whether we have done well or are lacking in aspects such as our stress, mental health and general well-being.

I think that my mental health has improved, and I could only really do that with the support of friends and family around me. I have also been able to work with a great team of people that were cooperative and understanding.

So what did I do that was so different this year? Well, I guess it was all about seeking different ways to help myself and of course to help others. I have recognized the value of putting others before myself. We are only on this world for a short period of time, so why not use that time to help people in need? I guess in a way, this blog is all about that.

With my counseling I have also learned how tough life is for many people and how just a little bit of effort from me can go a long way to alleviate the emotional suffering that they are enduring. It also helps me learn a lot about myself. I have also put myself in their shoes and had counseling myself and found that it has helped me immensely even though it didn’t seem to at first.

So in between champagne glasses take a moment to think about how your life was this year. Focus on the positives and make sure you continue to enjoy your life again in the new year.
