In my last post I talked about swapping a bad habit for a good one, but what if that bad habit is actually an addiction. Then maybe it is a bit harder to simply swap. If you do a quick google search, you will find out many scientific explanations for why we become addicted. They talk about how different hormones are involved in getting you addicted to substances. I cannot argue with science, but I think there may be other underlying problems behind peoples’ addictions.
For example, often people may resort to comfort food like chocolate after a break up, or even something more destructive like drugs or alcohol. Rather than treating the addiction, maybe we should find a solution to the real root cause of the problem.
When people think of addictions, they normally think about drugs or alcohol, but there are many more addictions that could be causing you harm, or harming people that you love, and they could also interrupt your study or work life. It is a good time to improve your life by letting go of these addictions. You are welcome to contact me if you need some help. The first session is free.
