How can I improve my image?

Are you one of those people that doesn’t like to pursue a life change unless they find some kind of results instantly? I wonder if maybe I am. When I try something new, I would like to see some results quite quickly and expect even more results down the track. I think this is what happened with me and Guided imagery.

Last week I talked about Guided imagery and how, according to research, Guided imagery has been used as a great tool to aid in a lot of issues such as anxiety, sleep deprivation and even help you to set goals or recover from a stroke.

For me, I struggled with it. I had a hard time focusing on creating an image and focusing on that image once I created it. I understand that it takes time to get great results. I am thinking that starting Monday I will create a diary for my guided imagery and set a minimum amount of time to devote to the practice. Maybe it will work better this time.

At the start I did come up with some good experiences. When I was driving in the busy city traffic, I imagined that I was driving through the snow. I could feel the cold air, even though in reality it was very hot. I could also smell the smoke from the chimneys of houses that have open fires in their homes.

On another occasion, when I was walking through the busy streets of the city, I imagined I was hiking in the forest. I could smell the eucalyptus trees, hear the birds singing, feel the breeze and breathe in the clear air.

Rather than thinking about memories, I tried to feel that it was really happening in the present, and that for those moments I was getting results. I think if I put in some more time and effort those results will improve.

I am doing all of these exercises to explore new ways of tackling my problems that I would like to share with you for you to give a try. If you would like to share anything that is on your mind, feel free to contact me for a free session. I look forward to sharing my experiences again next week.
