Do you ever feel like it is just another day when you wake up? Every day may seem to blend into another. You may feel bored, fed up, or even a little depressed. If you feel this way, you are not alone. Life can be hard, but it is never pointless.
I had always been guilty of doing many aimless things. I may get out of the house for a walk with no real goal in mind other than just getting out of the house to clear my head and be a bit more active. I guess that is a good reason, but having a real purpose in my mind would make for an even better reason.
Whenever I feel that I am a little lost in my life, I always think about following a purpose. It is not only important to lay the foundations for achieving shorter term goals, but I also find that it helps me to stay positive and to think about others rather than just myself. It makes me feel stronger emotionally and gives me the power to share my strength with others.
Having a purpose in life is a great investment for your future. Studies have suggested that when the elderly have a sense of purpose in their life, they experience less cognitive decline, and also are 2.4 times more likely to be free of Alzheimer Disease.
Research was conducted over a period of 2 years on a large amount of people aged 36-84 who have demonstrated purpose of life and it was found that they were able to cope well with expose to negative stimuli.
It seems like a sense of purpose helps us to soldier on in our life and not sweat the small stuff. Think about how you can find purpose in your life. Reflect on your talents, your passions and what you can give to your community.
