Are Sweets the Devil in Disguise?

I am continuing my quest to find out what sugar does to us. I talked about my person experiences, sugar, sugar and dementia and how sugar affects kids. What I want to go into is how sugar can look like an angel, talk like an angel, but be a devil in disguise. This is for all you Elvis Presley fans out there. Thank you very much.

Well, we all know about the term Comfort Food which is how we eat to take away the stress and make us feel good after a hard day or bad life experiences etc. Sugar is something that many people include in their Comfort Food regimen believing that it will lift their mood, but I have, for many years believed that it has the opposite effect, and my beliefs have been backed up with evidence.

There have been studies conducted in which links have been found between the consumption of sweet foods and depression. They found that the more sugar people consumed, the higher the amount of mental disorder prevalence. The opposite was found with people that had lower sugar intake. Mood questionnaires were used to assess this information with person observations numbering over 20,000.

If you are thinking about picking up a sweet croissant filled with sweet cream and sickly sweet chocolate, think again. If the saying ‘A moment of the lips, a lifetime on the hips’ doesn’t scare you, then. Other findings I have recently discovered might. Overconsumption may also lead to long-term depression effects. I don’t think anyone wants a sugary sweet if it may make them miserable for years to come. Not to mention all the other negative effects on health that could also cause depression.

There are plenty of safe, sweet alternatives out there. I personally like Stevia. Check them out. If you need to talk about issues that you are dealing with, whether it be depression, anxiety or general life’s ups and downs. Feel free to contact me. The first session is free.
