During the pandemic, I, like many other people around the world, have found myself isolated and working from home. I am not a person that likes to be stuck at home, especially for days at a time. We are all social beings; therefore, we need contact with other people, not just online but also face to face. Being cooped up at home, I have found solace in a daily ritual of mine. Actually, I do it at least three times a day. I take a walk just around my neighborhood. The walk does me good, but I also do it, not only for the walk, but to experience the healing properties of nature in the parks around my home. My favourite thing to do, is to look up in the trees, to see if I can see the birds that are singing so beautifully. I encourage everyone to do the same, to learn new habits, to look after their mental health today, on International Mental Health Day. When we are stressed or feeling blue, just holding your head up will help to take away these feelings. You can also have the added bonus of looking at the beautiful trees, birds and sky, that is, if the weather is good in your neighborhood. This simple act has helped me and I am sure it will do the same for you. Take care and stay safe.
