I can’t believe it has been 3 months since I changed the narrative of my diet by switching to keto. I would like to tell you about my results so far, and I have decided that I would not focus so much on weight loss, but more on the health benefits, just to be a little different to everyone else.
While I have been experimenting with the keto diet, I have discovered many benefits that I never knew were possible on keto. I think the main effect from keto that helps me a lot, is the reduction in inflammation. I like to run, and often feel sore the day after a long run, especially in the morning. All of that has just vanished. It is a great feeling. Recently I had accidently cut myself and I was surprised at how quickly the wound has healed. I am sure that this is because of my new keto lifestyle. Cravings for carbs have become a distant memory, and now I only really enjoy fatty foods that are just perfect for the keto diet and of course lots of green vegetables.
Everything is not perfect though. I think my energy has come back to pre-keto levels and I think I have slowly become ‘fat adapted’, but at times I do feel light headed when I stand up. This is normally because of dehydration and a lack of salt and potassium. So, after having a few drinks of water with salt and potassium added this symptom normally subsides. I can’t wait until the 6-month mark and I will keep you updated. Maybe you would like to give keto a try and see what it does for you.
