Time to Face the Strange Changes

We all think back sometimes about what life was like and whether it is better now, or not. We may have a time in our lives that we consider to be the Good Old Days, and these good old days may differ from other people you know, or even your family. Unfortunately, there are many changes that we have to endure in our lives. But is it really an unfortunate thing?

It has been a while since I had to work from home because of the pandemic; many people may still be doing that out of choice. I then returned to the office and had to readjust my life again. I think many people have done the same. There are positives and negatives that can be taken out of these situations. I won’t list them all, but I think that the positives far outweigh the negatives.

I will, through a few sayings that you all have heard before. The only constant in life is change; the only certainty in life is uncertainty. We cannot avoid it. David Bowie even had a song for it. I was once told that the only real way to find happiness is to embrace change, according to Buddhist philosophy.

This conjures up many questions for me, as I think it will for you too. What about memories? Should we just forget all about them? Is it important to bury all of our bad memories along with our good memories? For me, I think we need to strike a balance. We should be reminiscing about the past and be optimistic about the present and future.

In the next few weeks, I would like to look into change and what other people are saying about it and try to answer some of these questions and more.
